Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has revealed why his team was defeated 2-1 against Osasuna in Thursday La Liga encounter.
The Argentine captain said Osasuna defeated Barcelona because the visitors ‘overpowered’ Quique Setien’s men in the first half of the match.
Messi’s lone goal was not enough as Osasuna defeated the Catalan club at Camp Nou, thanks to two goals from Jose Arnaiz and Roberto Torres.
“This game reflects what we have been like all season. A very irregular team that lets its head drop too easily,” Messi was quoted by Barcelona’s official website as saying.
“We gifted the first half to an Osasuna team that overpowered us. In the second half, we were better, but it wasn’t enough.”
Barcelona’s next La Liga fixture is against Alaves on Sunday.
