EPL: Aubameyang snubs Arteta, Arsenal team-mates after 2-1 win over Tottenham

Former Premier League referee, Mark Clattenburg, has insisted that striker, Harry Kane, not being sent off in Tottenham’s Premier League derby 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday was the right decision.

Kane went viral for a bruising tackle on Arsenal defender, Gabriel Magalhães, during the encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

But Clattenburg feels not dismissing the England international was the right call.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Clattenburg said, “Later in the game, there was a robust challenge from Harry Kane on Gabriel, but the Spurs striker didn’t lead with his elbow or forearm, so that is why he wasn’t red-carded.

“I would have shown him a yellow for it, given it was a reckless action.”

Meanwhile, goals from Martin Odegaard and a penalty from Alexandre Lacazette gave the Gunners all three points against Jose Mourinho’s side as Erik Lamela’s first-half strike was not enough to give the visitors a point.

Arsenal’s next game is against Olympiacos in the Europa League round of 16 second-leg tie on Thursday.
