COVID-19: Premier League confirms one test positive

The English Premier League, EPL, has announced that one person has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after the latest phase of mass testing.

EPL confirmed this in a statement on its official website on Wednesday.

The statement read: “Latest results from COVID-19 testing as 1, 197 players and club staff were tested from 1-2 June.

“The Premier League can today confirm that on Monday 1 June and Tuesday 2 June 1197 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, one has tested positive.

“The individual who tested positive will now self-isolate for seven days.”

DAILY POST recalls that eighty- six people tested positive for COVID-19 last month.

The Premier League is expected to resume later this month.
